Carpin’s patented expansion connector provides an attractive and cost-effective way to join two pieces of tubing at a T-style joint. It can join tubing of any size, intersecting at any angle and eliminates the need for expensive welding, fish mouthing or pre-assembly operations.
The connector body is made of a durable grade of nylon and provides the support for the joint. The connector inserts into one of the tubing members and is fastened by a steel spring clip that expands during installation.
The other tubing member fits into the fish mouth shape of the connector. The screw passes through the cross member tubing, through the body of the expansion connector and engages in a nut or threaded spring clip. As the screw is tightened, the T-joint is fastened together and the spring clip expands to hold inside the tubing.
Expansion connectors are used extensively in the medical industry for walkers and bed rails. This innovative product is also ideal for boat and R.V. ladders or wherever tubing intersects tubing.
